Google Analytics 4

Category: Analytics · Connection: OAuth

Google Analytics 4 is connected via oauth.

  • Source-platform requirement: Viewer or higher on the GA4 property.
  • analytics.readonly

All scopes are read-only.

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and select Google Analytics 4.
  2. Click Connect. The Google Analytics 4 authorization screen opens.
  3. Approve the requested scopes.
  4. The integration appears as Connected, with initial sync running.

For the full connection-method walkthrough, see Connect a datasource.

  • Sessions and users
  • Conversion events and revenue
  • Traffic sources and channel groupings
  • Session and conversion attribution by channel
  • Site Traffic dashboards
  • Brand Overview Site Traffic section
  • Wrong property is connected — GA4 distinguishes between the property ID (a numeric ID like 123456789) and the measurement ID (a string like G-XXXXXXXX). Ignyte IQ binds to the property ID; picking by measurement ID in the dropdown can route to a stream-level view instead of the property aggregate.
  • Sessions don’t match GA4’s UI — GA4’s Realtime and Acquisition reports use different defaults (default channel grouping, default attribution model) than the API. Compare on the Acquisition → Traffic Acquisition report with default settings before treating a gap as a sync issue.
  • Revenue is zero or far off — confirm an Ecommerce event is firing on the store (purchase event with a value parameter). GA4 doesn’t auto-populate revenue from page views alone.
  • General connection issues — see Datasource won’t connect.
  • Other reconciliation differences — see Why numbers don’t match.
