Set a monthly goal for a metric
Metric Targets lets you set a monthly goal on a metric and surface Actual vs Goal on the corresponding Brand Overview tile. The goal scales automatically for partial-month (MTD) views.
Step-by-step
Section titled “Step-by-step”- Open More → Metric Targets.
- In the Create New Targets area, choose a metric group (Brand metrics by date, DTC metrics by date, Store Ad Spend, etc.).
- Choose a metric within that group (e.g. Sales, Ad Spend).
- Select the month and year the target applies to.
- Enter the target value, then save.
Verifying the goal
Section titled “Verifying the goal”After saving, the target appears in the Current Targets table. To see it surfaced in dashboards:
- Open Brand Overview for the same month.
- Hover over the tile for the metric you set a target on. The hover panel shows Actual, Goal, variance, and Goal Achievement.
How MTD scaling works
Section titled “How MTD scaling works”For dates inside the target month, the goal is scaled to match the date range you’re viewing. If your monthly target is $300,000 and you view Feb 1–11, the goal shown is the Feb 1–11 portion of $300K (≈ $117,857). Goal Achievement is computed against the scaled goal.
This is intentional — it lets you answer “are we on pace?” without doing manual pacing math.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Goal isn’t showing up on Brand Overview — confirm the same workspace; targets are workspace-specific. Confirm the date range falls inside the target month.
- Goal changes when the date range changes — expected, for MTD and custom ranges inside the target month.
- Can’t find the metric you want to target — open Metric Definitions to confirm the metric group it lives in.
