Views on Brand Overview
A view on Brand Overview is a saved configuration that the page opens to with one click. Each view bundles:
- The date range and comparison period (e.g. Last 7 days vs Previous Period).
- The channel filter chips that are active (e.g. DTC only, or DTC + Marketplaces).
- The section layout that’s visible — every workspace’s Brand Overview shows the same set of sections, but a view can scope to a subset of them.
- The group-by granularity of the trend charts on metric tiles.
Switching views replaces the entire Brand Overview state — date range, chips, charts, tables — without any extra clicks.
When views matter
Section titled “When views matter”Views matter when more than one reading pattern runs on the same page:
- A weekly exec review wants Last 7 days vs Previous Period, all channels, every section.
- A holiday war-room read wants Yesterday vs Same Day Last Year, DTC + Marketplaces only, with Operations near the top.
- A paid-team daily check wants Last 7 days, Marketing chip only, no Site Traffic or Subscriptions.
Without views, each reader has to re-set the control bar on every visit. With views, the read is one click.
How the view selector works
Section titled “How the view selector works”The view selector lives in the control bar at the top of Brand Overview. Clicking it opens a list of saved views; clicking a view loads it. The currently active view is highlighted.
Editing any control (date range, comparison, chip) while a view is loaded doesn’t modify the view — it’s a transient adjustment. Saving those adjustments back to the view, or saving them as a new view, requires explicit action. See Create a Brand Overview view.
Workspace scope
Section titled “Workspace scope”Views are workspace-scoped: every member of the workspace can switch to any view. There are no private/personal views. Renaming or deleting a view affects everyone.
Relationship to saved Views elsewhere
Section titled “Relationship to saved Views elsewhere”The view selector on Brand Overview uses the same underlying mechanism as the saved-Views feature on Explore dashboards — see Saved Views for the general mechanic. Brand Overview’s view list is independent of Explore’s; a view named Last 7 days on Brand Overview is a separate entity from one of the same name on the DTC dashboard.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Switching views doesn’t change the page. The selected view may match the current state already. Try another view, then return — the page reloads each time.
A teammate added a view I don’t want to see. Views can’t be hidden from specific members, only deleted (which affects everyone). Most workspaces converge on a small named set rather than a long unsorted list.
Can a view include the metric drilldown panel state? No. Views save the control-bar configuration and section layout, not the open/closed state of individual drilldowns.
