Reconcile Ignyte IQ with Shopify

Differences between Ignyte IQ and Shopify Admin fall into four categories: timing, definition, scope/date anchor, and (for ad-related metrics) attribution. This walkthrough identifies which one applies for any specific metric.

For the underlying explanation of each category, see Why numbers don’t match.

  1. Identify the metric and date range exactly. “Yesterday’s revenue” needs to be the same date range, the same time zone, and the same metric variant on both sides. Pick Yesterday in both Ignyte IQ and Shopify Admin Analytics.

  2. Open the ℹ️ panel on the Ignyte IQ tile. Note:

    • Metric definition (Gross Sales / Gross Revenue / Net Sales / Total Sales)
    • Datasource
    • Date anchor (creation date / closed date / fulfilled date)
    • Last calculated time
  3. Match the metric variant. Shopify Admin’s “Total sales” is closest to Gross Revenue in Ignyte IQ’s typical configuration. If Ignyte IQ shows Net Sales, the difference vs Shopify Total Sales is approximately Discounts + Refunds.

  4. Check the date anchor. Shopify Admin defaults to creation date. If the Ignyte IQ metric uses closed date, orders straddling midnight will land on different days. See Shopify Sales vs Order closed date.

  5. Check sync timing. Open the Data panel. If Shopify’s last updated timestamp is older than the Ignyte IQ-vs-Shopify gap could explain, sync is the difference. Reconnect if needed.

  6. If all the above match and the difference persists, the discrepancy is likely a calculation-rule variation (refund timing, discount inclusion, tax handling). The ℹ️ panel’s calculation notes spell out the rule for your workspace.

Which Ignyte IQ metric corresponds to Shopify’s “Total sales”?
Typically Gross Revenue in Ignyte IQ. Check the ℹ️ panel to confirm for your workspace.

Refunds dropped Net Sales but Shopify’s Total sales is unchanged.
Expected. Shopify’s Total sales is pre-refund; Net Sales is post-refund.

Tax inclusion differs.
The ℹ️ panel documents tax handling per metric. Some workspaces include tax in Gross Revenue; others don’t.
