Related Insights (AI question prompts)
Related Insights are AI-generated question prompts that surface alongside metric tiles — short, clickable questions like “Why did refunds spike last week?” or “Which campaigns drove the AOV increase?”. Selecting a prompt loads a drilldown or filter that answers the question without further configuration.
Related Insights are gated by the Consent for AI Features setting on the workspace.
Opting in
Section titled “Opting in”Related Insights only render when Consent for AI Features is on. The setting lives in Settings → Workspace and is workspace-scoped — flipping it on enables AI features for everyone in the workspace.
Until consent is granted, the Related Insights panel is hidden across every dashboard. Tiles render exactly as they would otherwise; nothing about the standard view changes.
For the consent setting itself, see Managing your workspace.
Where they appear
Section titled “Where they appear”Related Insights surface in three places:
| Surface | What appears |
|---|---|
| Below a metric tile on Brand Overview or Explore | 2–4 question prompts contextual to the tile’s metric and current period |
| In the ℹ️ panel of a tile | Prompts that probe the metric’s definition or recent movement |
| At the bottom of a Report section | Prompts specific to the section’s metric mix |
Each prompt is short (a sentence or two). Clicking opens a drilldown, filter, or related dashboard — never a chat interface.
What the prompts cover
Section titled “What the prompts cover”Prompts are generated from the metric, the date range, the comparison, and recent movement. Typical patterns:
- Movement-explanatory — “Why did Net Sales drop 12% week-over-week?”
- Contributor-discovery — “Which products drove the AOV increase?”
- Cross-platform — “Did the Meta spend cut affect blended ROAS?”
- Anomaly-spotting — “Refund rate exceeded its 90-day average — what caused it?”
Prompts are generated fresh on each dashboard load; the same metric on the same date range can produce different prompts in different visits.
What the AI can and can’t see
Section titled “What the AI can and can’t see”Related Insights run against the same data the dashboard already has — orders, campaigns, products, ad performance. The AI does not have access to:
- The contents of customer profiles or PII beyond what aggregated metrics expose.
- External data not connected via an integration.
- Other workspaces’ data.
The AI does see metric values, date ranges, and metric definitions for the current workspace. See Managing your workspace for the full data-handling notes on AI Features.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Related Insights don’t appear, but Consent for AI Features is on. Confirm the setting was saved (the toggle is workspace-wide and may need an admin to flip it). If consent is on and prompts still don’t appear, try a different metric tile — prompts require enough recent movement to be relevant; a flat metric may render none.
Can prompts be disabled per user? No. Prompts are workspace-wide. To suppress them, flip Consent for AI Features off.
The prompt I clicked didn’t answer the question. Prompts route to a drilldown or filter that’s typically a good starting point, not always a final answer. Use the drilldown’s own controls (Group By, date range, filters) to keep exploring.
