The default Brand Overview view
Every workspace ships with a default view on Brand Overview — the one Ignyte IQ opens to on first load and the fallback when no other view is selected. The default is wired to the primary platform picked during workspace setup; switching the primary platform later doesn’t retroactively change an existing default view.
What the default contains
Section titled “What the default contains”| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Date range | Last 7 days |
| Comparison | Previous Period |
| Channel chips | All channels active |
| Sections | All available sections, in canonical order |
| Group-by | Day |
The date range and comparison are tuned for an operational read — a week is long enough to smooth single-day noise and short enough to surface recent shifts.
Primary-platform variants
Section titled “Primary-platform variants”The primary platform from workspace setup affects two things about the default view:
- Section ordering for the first scroll — Shopify-primary workspaces show DTC first; Amazon-primary workspaces show Marketplaces first.
- The active channel chip on first load — Shopify-primary defaults to DTC + Marketing chips active; Amazon-primary defaults to Marketplaces + Marketing.
Workspaces created before the primary-platform setting existed default to the Shopify-primary layout.
Editing the default vs creating a new view
Section titled “Editing the default vs creating a new view”The default view can be edited like any other view — change the date range, comparison, or channel chips, then save the changes back to the default. But because the default is what new workspace members see first, edits to it affect everyone.
A safer pattern: leave the default alone and save a new view for any reading pattern that diverges from a one-week DTC-first read. See Create a Brand Overview view.
When the default appears
Section titled “When the default appears”Brand Overview opens to the default view in two cases:
- First load after sign-in, when no other view is in the URL.
- After a workspace switch, since each workspace has its own default.
A direct link to Brand Overview that includes a view in the URL bypasses the default and loads the linked view instead.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Why does my workspace open to a view I didn’t create? The default view is workspace-shipped, not created by any one user. Switch to a different saved view from the selector — the default stays as the fallback.
Can the default be deleted? No. Every workspace has exactly one default view at all times. It can be edited but not removed.
A teammate edited the default — how do I revert? There’s no per-view revision history. Edit it back to the desired configuration and save again, or create a new view alongside it.
